: I've essentially just paraphrased MOS:FILM#Reception where is says "Caution should be exercised when using aggregator scores that combine original and later dated reviews." etc. -- 109.76.129.112 ([]) 22:46, 26 June 2025 (UTC) ::I've changed it to "Reviews of Animal Crackers have been mostly positive.", given that RT and MC both come out positive. I've also said "The film was critically praised on its release."; since four of the five contemporary examples are praise, that seems fair. Paramount had not reissued Animal Crackers in the United States since 1949 (alongside Duck Soup),<ref>Variety, "Para. I'm motivated by correspondence I had with Joe Adamson, the author of Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Sometimes Zeppo, who told me that the reason it was not distributed was that, in the 1950s, Kaufman had become aware of a TV airing and made an enormous fuss about it. With that in mind, I think this text should be very tight. With that in mind, any source from 1949 is likely only saying that there was a theatrical re-issue then, not that there wasn't going to be one in the future. It's fine to use that source to say there was a re-issue in 1949 (and 1951, and 1955), but not to say that there wasn't a subsequent re-issue. I also don't think that the comparison with Hellapoppin adds anything unless you are familiar with Hellapoppin's rights issues. As someone who wasn't, I found it a bit distracting, and would like to move it to a note. With that in mind, I'm going to do a bit of rewording that hopefully keeps the essence of your research intact.
