- The SDT has now allowed contempt proceedings to be initiated against CEO Harold Ndege, Chairman Peter Kamau Chege, and Competitions Manager Frankline Opimbi Ogolla.

The Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) has thrown a spanner in the works by halting the kickoff of the National Super League (NSL) new season, which was scheduled for September 13, over a dispute involving Gucha Stars.
In its ruling delivered on September 3, Tribunal chair Bernard Wafula Murunga issued orders stopping the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) from promoting teams or commencing the NSL until its earlier judgment on Gucha Stars is fully implemented.
The controversy dates back to May, when FKF nullified Gucha Starsβ promotion after finding the club guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Eugene Nyakaga, under a false identity in a decisive match against Nakuru Bucks.
Gucha Stars challenged the decision and won, with the Tribunal ordering a replay of the disputed game. The outcome of that replay could dramatically change Division One standings, potentially securing Gucha Stars a historic promotion to the NSL.
Despite the ruling, FKF went ahead to promote Soy United and Compel FC, leading the Tribunal to accuse the federation of defying court orders.

The case will be mentioned again on September 15.
