Madagascar Head Coach Romuald βRoroβ Rakotondraibe has urged his players to maintain composure and confidence as they prepare for their maiden continental final against two-time winners Morocco at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Saturday at 6 pm.
The Barea have had a remarkable run in the CHAN 2024, overcoming Harambee Stars 4-3 on penalties in the quarter-finals before eliminating Sudan 1-0 in extra time, despite playing the last 40 minutes with ten men.
Reflecting on that journey, Rakotondraibe said his team has already achieved beyond expectations but must now finish the job.
βWe have done our job, accomplished our mission for us to reach the final, and I hope my players will tactically act as they should,β he said.

The coach admitted that Moroccoβs pedigree presents a formidable challenge but insisted that motivation will not be lacking for his squad.
βWe have never participated in a final, and this is already motivation enough, especially going up against Morocco,β Rakotondraibe emphasised.
Reports indicate that Madagascarβs President Andry Rajoelina may attend the final, something the coach believes could inspire his charges further as they chase history.
Defender Nantenaina Elysee Randriamanampisoa, popularly known as βTony,β also spoke ahead of the final. Drawing inspiration from his idol, Brazilian legend Thiago Silva, Tony said the squad is determined to fight for national pride.
βThe players are ready to give their all in the final and at least bring something home to the people of Madagascar,β Tony stated.
With history beckoning, Madagascarβs fairytale run will now be tested against one of Africaβs football giants.
Coach Rakotondraibe remains hopeful that belief, tactical discipline, and the teamβs psychological strength will carry them through to a dream ending.
