LIVE: How China is Undermining India's Progress in Smartphone Production | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G In 2025, India has become the second largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world, just next to China. With a market worth over $600 billion, smartphone is the top selling electronic product in the world. And, Beijing does not seem comfortable with India's quick growth as a competitor to Chinese monopoly in the smartphone market — China is trying to sabotage the India growth story. Foxconn, a Taiwanese company is the biggest supplier of Apple — it manufactures key parts for the iPhones. Taiwan has been expanding its manufacturing operations in India, but the efforts have now hit a roadblock. Over the last few months, Foxconn has pulled more than 300 of its Chinese workers from its Indian factories. These Chinese engineers and technicians were sent here to train the Indian workforce about key technological practices of Foxconn, and to help set up new facilities here. But Beijing reportedly issued orders earlier this year to curb tech transfers and cut down export of equipment to other countries. Hence, Foxconn was forced to pull out Chinese workers from its facilities in India. But the company is working on training more Indian workforce to ramp up production here. While Beijing has time and again slammed the US for allegedly sabotaging competition, why is it doing the same with India? Can New Delhi continue to depend on Beijing for technological imports? And, will India beat China to take over the smartphone market despite the sabotage attempts? On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you more. --- India | China | Smartphone Industry | iPhones | Foxconn | Apple | Trade War | Trade Deal | India Smartphone Market | India vs China | India China Trade Deal | Beijing | New Delhi | USA | Trump Tariffs | India US Trade Deal | India China Trade | Imports | Exports | Economy | Xi Jinping | New Delhi | Firstpost | World News | News Live | Vantage | Palki Sharma | News #india #china #trade #us #beijing #xijinping #pmmodi #newdelhi #economy #firstpost #vantageonfirstpost #palkisharma #worldnews Vantage is a ground-breaking news, opinions, and current affairs show from Firstpost.
