Prof. Dr. Arshad Javid is serving Department of Wildlife and Ecology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. He is a wildlife biologist and has good understanding of wildlife conservation issues and their management. He is the key person who has earned projects for the establishments of Zoological Museum, GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratory, Avian Conservation and Research Center and Up-gradation of Labs in the department. He joined this institution during 2007 and since then remained involved in various academic and administrative activities. He is the first in the country who focused bats during his PhD studies and is amongst very few who are making efforts to conserve bats and raising awareness among public for these environment friendly creatures. He has a number of trainings to his credit regarding conservation of wildlife. He has organized and delivered lectures in various workshops to create awareness among public about the significance of biodiversity, published articles in newspapers and wildlife magazines to address conservation issues such as environmental toxicity and human impact on species extinction. Dr. Arshad has published more than 200 International and National Research Papers and as supervisor, he has produced 13 Ph. D. and 5a number of M. Phil. students. While he is currently supervising 5 Ph. D. and 7 M. Phil. students. He is referee of renowned international and national journals including The Journal of Animal and Plant Sciences, Pakistan Journal of Agricultural Sciences, Punjab University Journal of Zoology, Journal of Microscopy and Ultrastructure and Aquaculture Nutrition. Recently, Dr. Arshad have completed projects entitled ‘Propagation of Ducks Rearing in Punjab’ funded by the Government of Punjab amounting Rs. 45.030 Million and ‘Prospects of Honey Production as Cottage Industry’.

He has been awarded with HEC’s University-Level Best University Teacher Award, 2020; Prof. Dr. Shahnaz Akhtar Rana Gold Medal by the Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan, 2019; Prof. Dr. Mirza Azhar Beg Gold Medal by the Pakistan Congress of Zoology, 2017 and Research Productivity Award, 2017 by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, for his academic/research contributions.
