:For example, I would quarrel with your {{tq| 'font' which is a 'typeface' with specific properties (stroke width, italics...}}. In print terminology, a 'font' is one instance of a typeface. Take for example the typeface Times New: the fonts Roman 10, Roman 12, Italic 10, Roman Bold 10 are all distinct. In [[computer font]] terminology, a "font family" roughly corresponds to a typeface. I think!
:[[Scalable font]]s mean that in effect, Roman 10, Roman 12, Roman 14 etc are all the same font nowadays. The terminology of computer fonts has come to dominate but not replace print terminology (even though nobody uses discrete [[sort (typesetting)|sort]]s any more and the print industry is all computerised){{snd}} but it makes our explanations a lot more difficult to write and easy to get wrong.
