Kenan was born and raised in Pardesiya. Her grandfather is Brigadier General (Res.) Giora Ram-Forman, who served as Deputy Commander of the Israeli Air Force and Secretary General of the Kibbutz HaArtzi movement. Her family name is a Hebraized version of "Klinman."
