US Venezuela El Salvador Prisoner Exchange LIVE: Americans and Venezuelans Return Home | N18G Venezuela on Friday released 10 jailed U.S. citizens and permanent residents in exchange for the return of Venezuelan migrants who had been deported by the U.S. to El Salvador under the Trump administration. The three-country deal, involving Presidents Maduro, Trump, and Bukele, includes more than 250 Venezuelan migrants previously held in El Salvador’s mega-prison, CECOT. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed all wrongfully detained Americans in Venezuela are now free. Some of the migrants, accused of gang ties, were detained under the Alien Enemies Act without evidence.
