Trump Administration Fires 1,300 State Department Employees | Subscribe to Firstpost The US State Department fired over 1,300 employees on Friday in line with a dramatic reorganisation plan from the Trump administration. The department sent layoff notices to 1,107 civil servants and 246 foreign service officers who have domestic assignments in the country. The foreign service officers will be placed on a 120-day administrative leave, following which they will formally lose their jobs.
