TIL that the word tilde in Spanish usually refers to the acute accent ´ rather than the ˜ mark. Most Spanish speakers don’t even think about the top of the independent letter ñ as having a name, but it’s sometimes called a virgulilla (though per dictionaries both ˜ and ´ are types of tildes).
