Three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers have been killed while seven others are nursing injuries following a tragic explosion involving an Improvised Explosive Device at Badaah area on the Kiunga-Sankuri road in Lamu County.

Currently, the injured soldiers are continuing to receive treatment at the Kiunga hospital, while a major operation has been launched to identify those responsible for planting the explosive device, with locals claiming that the area is facing a threat of terrorism.
