[td]In 1779 a [[Cadet branch|collateral branch]] of the Counts of Waldburg-Zeil inherited the sovereign county of [[Lustenau#History|Lustenau]] by marriage. Countess Maria Walburga von [[Harrach|Harrach zu Rohrau und Thannhausen]] (1756-1828) inherited the county from her mother, Countess Maria Rebekka (1742-1806), the last member of the [[Hohenems family|House of Hohenems]]. In 1813, her husband, Count Clemens of [[House of Waldburg|Waldburg-Zeil-Lustenau-Hohenems]] (1799-1869) acquired the possessions of the County of Lustenau and the [[County of Hohenems]] from his wife.
