:No because archive.is does not work for everyone at the moment, including yourself in the future, it makes no sense to lock it in. Archive.is is working for you and some others right now is random, a function of DNS caching that can and often does change. The only way to permanently fix the problem is DNS resolver settings on your computer. This is how to work around the damage caused by an upstream source. You can accept this or not, but there is no Wikipedia solution to this problem. -- Green[] 19:44, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

::Neither archive.today nor archive.ph work for everyone at the moment either (in fact, neither works for me, and at least one does not work for you). There are millions of subscribes to the DSL internet provider I'm using who no doubt have the exact same default hardware/software configuration as I do. That's a lot of people who are having their Wikipedia experience dis-improved by changes being imposed by GreenC bot. This is becoming Kafkaesque. -- Cl3phact0 ([]) 20:21, 2 September 2025 (UTC)

:::That's right, there is no domain that works for everyone all the time. But we choose archive.today for different reasons, because it is the main gateway to the site, which allows the site owner to redirect traffic to whichever domain they think is best, which protects from outages of other types, such as server outage or domain name hacking, and it allows them to load balance traffic from Wikipedia which is substantial. It is the correct "robust" choice. For those unable to get in, the solution is very simple, use a different DNS resolver. -- Green[] 23:45, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
