That fear of telling people youโ€™re traveling to Naija because everyone will beg you to bring somethingโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€ Weโ€™re turning it into a business. Introducing BagXtra ๐ŸŒ

Ask Me Anything

Hi everyone,

Weโ€™re building a product called BagXtra, and I wanted to share it with you here.

The gist is simple:

  • Travelers flying abroad usually have extra luggage space.
  • Shoppers back home want items that are hard to get or overpriced locally.
  • BagXtra connects the two, allowing travelers to earn extra cash while shoppers gain access to products faster and at a lower cost.

At launch, weโ€™re starting with one-way travel (abroad โ†’ Nigeria), and plan to expand as we grow.

Iโ€™d love to hear your thoughts. Ask me anything, what excites you, what worries you, or what youโ€™d want us to fix before launch.

Edit / Quick Clarification ๐ŸŒโœˆ๏ธ

Iโ€™ve seen a few people ask about this, so let me clear it up:

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ We donโ€™t accept random packages from people to ship.

How it actually works:

  • Every order is from a known merchant (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc).
  • The traveler is the one purchasing the item (not collecting someoneโ€™s bag).
  • The shopper pays upfront into BagXtraโ€™s escrow. Once you deliver, you get reimbursed for the item plus your delivery fee.

To make it easier, travelers can even use Afterpay / Klarna (4 monthly installments) abroad. Example: a shopper pays $800 into escrow, you buy the item using $200 installment, deliver it, and BagXtra pays you back the full $800 + your earnings.

That way:

โœ… No risk of carrying illicit items.

โœ… Items only come from trusted stores.

โœ… Travelers earn, shoppers save.
