Kenyan international Sylvester Owino says Harambee Stars is in a better position to collect maximum points from the two World Cup qualifiers against Gambia and Seychelles.
Owino also featured for Harambee Stars in the recently ended CHAN competition says the calibre of players picked for the qualifiers is enough to give a winning prediction for the local boys

Gambia is already in the country for their second leg against Harambee Stars having drawn 3-3 in the first leg earlier in the year. They play against Harambee Stars on Friday September 5 at the MISC Kasarani.
The Gor Mahia defender further alludes that he is aware of the legion of players in the Gambia team who ply their trade in Europe but noted that football is about 11 playerβs aside, saying the foreign legion would not necessarily work for Gambia.
βI know the entire Gambian squad consists of foreign based players unlike Harambee Stars which invited nine foreign based players. This is not a bother to us. We will play according to instructions and hopefully grab the three points in contention,ββ added Owino
The Gambian team consists of, among others, Brighton and Hove Albion player Yankuba Minter who plays in the wing. The 21 year old is known for his speed and determination, something that should worry the Harambee Stars defenders
Under the stewardship of former Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan McKinstry, Gabon will also require maximum points to better their group standings and FIFA rankings as well.
Coach McKinstry says he is aware of the threat posed by the Kenyan team even though he believes everyone will fight for the three points.
βThis is a competition, and it is only the final whistle that will determine the winner. I know Kenya has the advantage of the home support as was the case during the CHAN competition, but we shall fight to the final whistle.ββ
McKinstryβs first assignment against a Kenyan side after departing Gor Mahia ended in a 3-3 draw when Gambia hosted Kenya in the first leg of the World Cup qualifiers
Currently, Kenya sits 4th in group F with 6 points after six outings with Gambia in position 5, with 4points from the same number of matches as Kenya.
Gabon still leads the group followed by Ivory Coast, while Burundi is comfortably in position three in the group.
