"I did well in my KCSE and joined K.U. I graduated in December 2024 but job opportunities were hard to come by. So I decided not to just sit at home and lament," Schola, as she is fondly known, said.
She decided to open a Kibanda in Kahawa Wendani from where she sells groceries to the locals, who have gradually grown fond of her.
Schola's day starts at Githurai 45 market, where she picks the groceries from and takes them to her kibanda.
From here she sells them to make a living.
"I settled on groceries because they are fast-moving. People have to eat, so at least they buy and help me get something for myself," she adds.
Having been raised by her grandmother, Schola says her academic and life journey has not been easy.
