Governor Anne Waiguru Joins the Kirinyaga County Choir as she marks eight years of service delivery in the County during a thanksgiving service themed "let your light shine" held at the County Headquarters in Kutus.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has urged residents to pray that the next governor will be better than her and will sustain the high level of development when her second term comes to an end in 2027.
Waiguru told her county executives eyeing political positions in government and the private sector not to lose sight of the work that still remains or be distracted by their ambitions for 2027.
She cautioned her staff against being sidetracked by the upcoming elections, urging them to stay focused on service delivery, while expressing confidence that future county leadership will build on the progress already made.
βWhoever will be governor, we should start praying that it will be a better leader than Anne Waiguru, because God is not limited,β she said.
The governor was speaking during a county Thanksgiving and Prayer Breakfast at the county headquarters in Kutus, where she reflected on her administrationβs achievements and urged county staff to remain steadfast in delivering excellent services.
She brought together Members of the County Assembly, the County Executive, and staff from both arms of government. Citing milestones achieved across various sectors over the past eight years, she said her administration has set a high bar in service delivery, particularly in health, agriculture, trade, education, women and youth empowerment, and infrastructure.
She highlighted hundreds of completed projects and their impact on residents, including state-of-the-art health facilities, modern markets, transformed urban centers through cabro paving, increased agricultural production, tripled farmer incomes, and the ongoing development of the Sagana Industrial City.
On health, she noted that her administration has digitized services across all 74 health facilities, including dispensaries, bringing services closer to the people.
Waiguru commended county workers for their role in implementing projects, calling them the βengineβ of transformation.
βThe people who oil the wheels and carry the weight are the county executives. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much,β she said.
The governor expressed confidence that future leadership will build on the countyβs progress, saying her administration has set a high bar in governance and service delivery.
