Police in Narok have launched investigations into the gruesome killing of a 10-year-old pupil at the Seventh Day Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School.
The body of the Grade Four boy was discovered on Sunday morning inside the boysβ toilet with his throat slit and blood stains covering the floor. The discovery sparked outrage among parents and residents, who attempted to set the school ablaze before being restrained.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested the schoolβs security guard after he was allegedly found with blood-stained clothes. He is being held to assist police with investigations.
Residents expressed shock over the incident, describing it as both chilling and unacceptable.
Following the incident, the Narok County Education Department ordered the immediate closure of the institution and directed parents to withdraw their children.
Tension remained high around the school as distraught parents demanded justice and accountability.

βNi kisa cha kusikitisha sana kuona mtoto kama huyo anauawa kinyama ndani ya shule,β said Hassan Ngatia, a resident of Majengo.
Veronica Namunyak, another resident, added: βTunataka kujua nani anauwa mtoto hapa ndani. Mtoto wa Class Four sasa anajua nini?β

βTumeshangaa usiku mzima hatukusikia hata nduru. Tuko na hofu kama wazazi,β said neighbor Mbugua wa Thiki.
Douglas Masikonte, another resident, called for urgent reforms, including improved security measures: βBaada ya shule hii kufungwa, tunataka mabadiliko, security lights, na hatutaki boarding school hapa tena.β
