Is it normal for me (31 M) to get awkward initiating sex with my wife (30 F)?

My wife (30 F) and I (31 M) have been together for quite some time. We’ve gone through peaks of tons of sex and then non at all. Earlier on, I would mostly get shut down, and now it’s started to pick back up again, but I still find myself getting awkward with initiating it (I’m guessing because I was used to getting shut down). My sex drive is definitely higher than hers and I think I get in my head about wanting it more often than her, but am I weird to get in my head about initiating?
