Is edema required for a pump session to be "successful"?

Curious as yesterday I did 5 x 2 minute sessions at 5-7hg and the soft clamped for 5 minutes and got a fair amount of edema and petechia. Today is did 4 x 2 minutes and 1 x 4 minutes sets, at 5hg, and then a 5 minute soft clamp. I felt like I still got expansion (maybe not quite as much when pushing 7hg the day before) and still felt "full" or "swollen" at the end of the pumping session, but I had minimal petechia and no edema today.
