I caught strong feelings for someone who openly told me that she canβt reciprocate feelings or be in a relationship, yet her actions kept showing care and attention. Sheβd check up on me, bring me food without me asking, send me goodnight texts, and even get worried if I didnβt text her. It really messed with my head because her words and her actions didnβt align.
It makes me wonder β why does this happen? Why would someone put in so much care and attention if they donβt want to be with you? Is it just their personality, maybe βmotherly instincts,β fear of being taken advantage of, or are they emotionally unavailable but still crave connection?
Iβve recently stepped back for my own sanity, but Iβd love to hear if anyone else has gone through this. Did you figure out the cause behind it? How did you handle it?
