The disgraced socialite was honored by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clintonโs noted program despite serious allegations of misconduct already surrounding her at the time.

CNN unearthed footage showing Maxwell as an honored guest at a luncheon dedicated to ocean conservation, where she was celebrated alongside other โCommitment to Actionโ leaders. She represented the TerraMar Project, an organization focused on ocean preservation. Footage from the event shows the British socialite, all smiles, rising to receive applause. An investigation revealed a recommendation list that granted Maxwell complimentary access to the star-studded affair.
Maxwellโs involvement with Epstein

Despite the presence of allegations Maxwell was aiding Epstein, it wasnโt until a February 2011 exposรฉ focused on Prince Andrewโs involvement with the disgraced financier that she began to face serious public scrutiny. Virginia Roberts Giuffreโs civil suit against Epstein dates back even further to 2009. It was the late Giuffreโs allegations that opened the floodgates as she claimed Maxwell had recruited her for the notorious predator. According to insiders, โSeveral of the girls alleged that Ghislaine Maxwell had procured them, and one of the girls โ who โฆ settled her civil case out of court with Epstein โ even alleged that Ghislaine had taken part in the โฆ abuse herself.โ

In response, a Clinton Foundation representative told CNN, โThere were more than 600 comps approved at CGI in 2013. The decisions on those comps were made, as they have been historically, at the staff level, which included the office of President Clinton.โ Meanwhile, a spokesperson for former President Clinton insisted to KFile, โThis is about someone working on ocean conservation attending a charitable conference 12 years ago, along with thousands of other people, and nothing more. As we have consistently said, the Clintons know nothing about Jeffrey Epsteinโs terrible crimes.โ

In a recent prison interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Maxwell spoke about President Donald Trump and Epstein, who were friends decades ago. The British socialite, who suggested that Epstein was โmurderedโ in jail in 2019, defended Trump and praised his behavior. โI actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting,โ she stated. โThe president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.โ
