Business was disrupted along Ngong Road near Prestige in Nairobi after matatu operators blocked the road in protest against alleged harassment by police officers.
The operators blocked the road, claiming that a conductor serving vehicles on the Kibera route had been attacked and physically assaulted by the police.
Similar cases are said to have been reported in the area and in other parts of the country, where police have been accused of such harassment.
Stakeholders and victims are now calling on the Inspector General of Police, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), and human rights defenders to address the matter urgently.
