Day 2: Building My First Vertical Slice
I'm thrilled to have reached a significant milestone in my game development journey. After two full days of coding, I've successfully completed the vertical slice for my first game prototype. This was a challenge, but a valuable learning experience.
The process was filled with bugs and errors, but through persistence, I learned how to troubleshoot common issues, like missing file paths and incorrect asset types. Getting the core loop to work β from character movement and item collection to the game over and restart system β was incredibly rewarding.
This small victory has shown me that perseverance and a solid understanding of project flow are crucial for building something from the ground up. I'm excited to continue this journey and apply these skills to future projects.
