Weβre pleased to announce a privacy-focused update to the Inoreader browser extension: the βRead and change all your data on all websitesβ permission is no longer required. Previously, this permission was requested when users first chose to save or annotate content from the page they were viewing.
At Inoreader, user privacy is a top priority. We follow the principle of least privilege, requesting only the access necessary to deliver core functionality. When we initially added this permission, it was to support saving content from the current tab into Inoreader. Weβve since improved the extension and can now offer the same functionality without requiring such broad access.
Weβve always been mindful of the sensitive nature of this permission, and weβve aimed to be transparent about its purpose so users could make an informed decision before granting it.
With our latest update, this permission is no longer needed and has been fully removed.
Thank you for trusting Inoreader. We remain committed to building powerful tools while respecting your privacy every step of the way!
