Bidco United have released 20 players to pave the way for 17 new signings in a sweeping squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season, head coach Antony Akhulia has announced.
United, who were rock bottom for the better part of last season, pulled off a remarkable escape from relegation on the FKF-PL final day in June after a 2-1 win over Sofapaka to leapfrog Murangβa Seal, Posta Rangers, FC Talanta and City Stars, finishing 15th out of 18 teams.
βWe have done an overhaul and that means we have very many new faces in our playing unit with 20 players leaving and 17 new ones joining.
βWe have done very well in the pre-season friendly matches winning four and two draws in the six matches we have played. I am very happy with the new-look team,β Akhulia said.
Among the new signings are center back Kevin Ouma and midfielder Dan Musamali both from Kenya Police.
Others are striker Jacob Onyango who joined on loan from Tusker, striker Kedishon Buka from Nairobi United and several arrivals from FKF division one and two clubs.
With the sweeping changes, Akhulia believes the Oilers are ready to compete against the giants in the topflight league.
βWe are going on with the pre-season and I believe we have signed good quality players that are capable of locking horns with the heavyweights in the top-flight league.
βThe management has supported us heavily and the goodwill is there which is very positive for the next step in this team.β
