Team engineers a microbial platform for efficient lutein production
A probe radical astatine KAIST has successfully engineered a microbial strain susceptible of producing lutein astatine industrially applicable levels. The team, led by Distinguished Professor Sang Yup Lee from the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, developed a caller C. glutamicum strain utilizing systems metabolic engineering strategies to flooded the limitations of erstwhile microbial lutein accumulation efforts.
