B2B (Business-to-business) should be thought of as P2P (people-to-people).

In B2B organisations deals are done between people, and people do business with people that they like and trust.

Mike Nicholson, CEO, of B2B communications agency, Six Sells, stresses the importance of what he describes as "people-shaped content". Nicholson said "on platforms such as LinkedIn people pay far more attention to the personable content of familiar people than they do to the company content published by faceless brands. It's therefore critical that B2B organisations think about themselves as people-to-people, creating content from their people aimed at the people that work and make decisions inside of their target client businesses."

When the senior leadership team within a B2B (P2P) organisation create personable thought-leadership content, and then boost that content directly into the newsfeeds of the decision-makers at their ideal clients, they build awareness, familiarity, trust and interest for both themselves and their organisation.
