I have reverted the revision of 06:05, 2 July 2025. In view of the comparative sizes of the Church of England and the Church in Wales, a percentage which aggregates both churches is unlikely to be of great relevance to the Church in Wales. Further, historically the Church of England held the allegiance of a far larger proportion of the population in England than was the case in Wales: Non-conformity held the allegiance of a majority of the population of Wales by the middle of the 19th Century (see the reference to the Religious Census of 1851 in [[Nonconformity in Wales]]). :I think reliable statistical research involving the Church in Wales is relevant to the Church in Wales. I think it speaks for itself in that it substantiates the Church in wales’ reporting that it is the largest Christian identity in Wales. The survey asked for denominational identity and in England “Anglican” applies to the Church of England while in Wales it applies to Church in Wales meaning 56% identify as Church of England in England and the same identifies as Church in Wales since the survey did not e any discrepancy.§ |
