Shabana FC has announced open trials for under-23 players in Nyamira County as the club seeks to bolster its squad ahead of the new season.
The trials will be held in two key constituencies, providing a platform for young footballers to showcase their talent and potentially earn a place in the senior team.
On Friday (today) the trials will kick off at Sere Grounds in North Mugirango and West Mugirango.
The following day, Saturday, July 19, 2025, the focus will shift to Rigoma Grounds, covering players from Kitutu Masaba and Borabu.
Shabana FC has specified that all participating players must be under 23 years of age, come with full training kits, and present their original identification documents.
Importantly, the club has made it clear that no current Kenya Premier League (KPL) players will be allowed to participate.

In the just-concluded season, the club finished fifth on the log with 53 points, just four points shy of the top four, underlining their impressive consistency and competitive growth.
Shabana’s development of young talent has also started to bear fruit. Austin Odongo, the club’s promising young striker, earned a late call-up to the Harambee Stars squad currently in camp preparing for the CHAN 2024, which Kenya will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania starting August 2, 2025.
