LIVE: US Top Diplomat Marco Rubio Makes First Visit to Asia as Trump Tariffs Loom | Trade War | N18G U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived at Subang Air Base near Kuala Lumpur on Thursday morning (July 10) hours before meeting his Southeast Asian counterparts at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting. It is Rubio's first visit to Asia since taking office and he will try to reassure his ASEAN partners that the region is a priority for Washington, even as President Donald Trump targets it in his global tariff offensive. Rubio will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the meetings on Thursday, a senior State Department official said.
