LIVE: Quad Condemns Pahalgam Attack, But Fails to Call Out Pakistan | Vantage with Palki Sharma India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the Quad Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, 1 July. Quad is the Quadrilateral diplomatic partnership between India, Japan, Australia and the US. After the meeting, the Quad leaders issued a joint statement condemning the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir. However, the group failed to call out Pakistan for its involvement in the attack. India not only publicly accused Islamabad-backed terror groups for the attack, but also carried out precise, retaliatory strikes against terrorist targets in Pakistan, as part of Operation Sindoor. Jaishankar firmly stated at the Quad meeting that India had a "right to defend itself against terrorism". India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in a phone call with US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, reportedly conveyed that India planned on carrying out "preemptive strikes" against terror targets in the future. Now, all eyes are on the UNSC Counter-Terrorism Committee being chaired by Pakistan — and whether India's allies will come out in its support. In such, is the Quad slowly losing its purpose if it can't support India in its fight against terrorism? Also, will the Quad members take a strong step against terrorism at the Quad Summit planned to take place in India later this year? And, why has the US failed to call out terror-sponsor Pakistan? On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma breaks it down for you. --- S Jaishankar | India Pakistan | Pahalgam Attack | Kashmir Attack | Operation Sindoor | QUAD Summit 2025 | QUAD FMs Meet 2025 | S Jaishankar | Marco Rubio | USA | India | India US Trade Deal | Jaishankar in US | Pahalgam Terror Attack | Kashmir Terror Attack | India vs Pakistan | PM Narendra Modi | Donald Trump | India | Australia | US | Japan | Firstpost | World News | News Live | Vantage | Palki Sharma | News #quad2025 #jaishankar #operationsindoor #pahalgamattack #pahalgamterrorattack #donaldtrump #marcorubio #trump #india #pmmodi #firstpost #vantageonfirstpost #palkisharma #worldnews Vantage is a ground-breaking news, opinions, and current affairs show from Firstpost.
