Prime Minister Narendra Modi guaranteed the welfare of Indian farmers as he reacted to the latest trade tariffs of 15% imposed by the United States. "For us, our farmers' welfare is supreme. For the farmers, fishermen and dairy farmers of my country, India is ready today," he said. US President Donald Trump doubled the tariffs on India from 25% to 50%. He claimed that India is supporting Russia's war against Ukraine by importing oil from the country.
