LIVE: Microsoft to Stop Using China Based Engineers for US Military Tech Support | Pentagon | N18G Microsoft announced on Friday (July 18) it will end the use of China-based engineers for U.S. military technical support following an investigative journalism outlet ProPublica investigation. The report revealed Chinese engineers had worked on Pentagon cloud systems under U.S.-based subcontractors with security clearances but limited technical expertise. In response, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered a two-week review of all Defence Department cloud contracts and declared an immediate ban on any Chinese involvement in U.S. military cloud services.
