India's EAM S. Jaishankar In China, Calls For Open Dialogue, Backs Beijing's SCO Presidency | N18G India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing on Monday (July 14). During his meeting, Jaishankar noted improvement in bilateral ties and expressed New Delhi's support for Beijing's Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) presidency. Jaishankar said that the ties between the two countries have been improving since the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan in October 2024. He expressed confidence that discussions during his visit will maintain that "positive trajectory". Jaishankar also stated that India and China have marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, expressing New Delhi's appreciation for the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
