The Japanese version of the controller (SCPH-1150) uses a single motor rumble method, which was later deprecated in favour of the dual motor method used by DualShock. Thus means that a number of games designed for DualShock lacks of vibration support on SCPH-1150. On the other side, DualShock is backwards compatible with the games designed to work with the older single motor method.<ref name="libpad">{{cite web|author=SCEA Developer Support|date=May 19, 1997|title=LibPad/Analog Controller FAQ 1.0|url=https://psx.arthus.net/sdk/Psy-Q/DOCS/FAQ/libpdfaq.pdf|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250508025639/https://psx.arthus.net/sdk/Psy-Q/DOCS/FAQ/libpdfaq.pdf|archive-date=May 8, 2025|access-date=2025-07-07}}</ref><ref name="nocash">{{cite web |author=Martin Korth (nocash) |title= Controllers - Vibration/Rumble Control |url=https://problemkaputt.de/psxspx-controllers-vibration-rumble-control.htm }}</ref> |
