In 1976, Beck was elected as a [[Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada]]. He received the [[125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal|Confederation of Canada Medal]] in 1992, was appointed to the [[Order of Canada]] in 1993, and received the [[Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal]] in 2002.
