Air Manitoba was traced back to 1953 with Ilford airways. Ilford Airways merged with Riverton Airways to make Ilford riverton airways which existed until it merged with Northland Airlines thus creating Northland air Manitoba Which rebranded in 1992 to Air Manitoba before ceasing in 1994 with the AOC getting revoked over safety concerns

== Accidents ==
On november 10 1993 an [[Hawker Siddeley HS 748|HS 748]] registered C-GQTH crashed after taking off from Sandy lake Ontario killing all 7 occupants. The cause was deemed to be most likely loss of situational awareness


On April 23 1994 a [[Curtiss C-46 Commando|C 46]] flying a chartered flight crashed in Kenya after losing the left engine for unknown reasons. The crew survived but the plane was destroyed beyond repair
